Holiday Activities and Food Programme
What is HAF and what does it mean..?
HAF stands for Holiday, Activities and Food. It’s a free holiday programme funded by the Government through Active Essex's ActivAte programme and delivered by the CMXSC Active Camps team for children who are eligible for free school meals.

The HAF programme supports thousands of children and families during the school holidays throughout Essex providing them with access to funded places at our Active Camp. Here at CMXSC we are proud to be working in collaboration with Active Essex, Chelmsford City Council, Essex ActivAte and Essex County Council.

Is HAF Free..?
Yes! If you’re children are eligible for free school meals, then you are able to book on to the HAF programme free of charge.
What to bring with you..?
For our camp, we maintain a strict nut-free policy to prevent allergic reactions.
Attendees of our HAF camps will receive a provided lunch. We ask that each child brings a refillable water bottle (non-fizzy drinks only) and a healthy snack for the mid-morning break, as we promote healthy eating and do not permit sweets.
Please also include any necessary medications, such as inhalers or epipens, which our team will safely store upon arrival. A change of clothes is advisable. Lastly, children must bring their own sunscreen and are responsible for applying it themselves.
What should you wear..?
Comfortable Sports clothing suitable for the days weather conditions – it is always a good idea to pack a coat or waterproof jacket, hat and gloves depending on weather. During the day we will have both indoor and outdoor activities so wearing a tracksuit or hoodie that can be easily removed when hot is great.
